Andrew Noon
My experience of working with teenagers and young people is extensive and I have spent more than 25 years in the education sector. I have worked with clients studying in schools and colleges and the staff who support and teach them. I have a particular interest in working with clients who are dealing with the impact of specific learning difficulties, for example, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and ADHD. I believe that this issue is not confined to those still in the education system and that many neuro-diverse people of all ages can benefit from exploring their relationship with their conditions.
In addition to the situations described above, I love working with people of all ages and backgrounds to help them overcome feelings such as anxiety, depression and that nagging sense of pointlessness that dogs so many of us.
I am a member of the BACP and I adhere to their code of ethics and good practice. I qualified with a postgraduate Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Integrative Humanistic Counselling and I have a degree in Medical Sciences, which I find can be particularly useful when I feel it would benefit a client to provide psycho-education.

Hi. My name is Andrew. I’m an Integrative Relational Counsellor. Being an integrative counsellor means I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches: I have training in working with CBT; Humanistic and Psychodynamic approaches; but most importantly I work to develop an empathic, trusting relationship that helps you to a deeper understanding of what makes you tick. For me, the quality of the therapeutic relationship is the key to success. I will work with you to explore the way you think, feel, sense and perceive the world. We will sit as equals and I will offer empathy, support and, if it will be helpful, challenge. Most of all, I will listen to you. The development of this listening relationship is at the heart of my work.
I work with clients of all ages, from early teens to well into retirement. I have worked with people experiencing a range of issues including relationship problems, bereavement, depression, anxiety, anger, sexual identity, grief and loss, childhood abuse and neglect. I have worked with those dealing with the impact of long term physical conditions and illnesses (including IBS) and those who care for them.
I have worked in the education, healthcare, commercial and financial sectors and I can access this broad life experience and understanding when supporting people with workplace issues including bullying, harassment and redundancy.
