Counselling for young people

I offer one-to-one counselling to young people between the ages of 11 and 17 on a wide range of issues, such as body image, anxiety and self-harm. I also work in a secondary school, where I see students for individual counselling.

Counselling for adults

I work with adults on a one-to-one basis. I have experience in supporting adults who are struggling with a variety of challenges, such as relationship difficulties, anxiety, low mood, bereavement and past trauma.

What happens next?

In the first session, we will discuss your reasons for seeking counselling support and how we might work together. If you decide to go ahead, we will meet every week at the same time. Each session lasts for 50 minutes.

Counselling is usually open-ended, which means there is no fixed number of sessions. However, if you would prefer to arrange an agreed number of sessions, I am happy to be flexible.

I am an experienced counsellor with an Advanced Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling. The psychodynamic model acknowledges the impact of our past experiences on our present lives, so helping us to gain insight and awareness of ourselves and our development.

Trust is essential to the counselling relationship, so confidentiality is important. I also always work sensitively and at the client’s own pace.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by the BACP’s Ethical Framework for good practice.

Many of us experience challenges and setbacks in our lives, which can sometimes throw us off balance. You might be struggling at home, at school or at work. Perhaps you feel anxious, sad or angry. Maybe everything feels overwhelming and exhausting.

Counselling offers a safe, confidential space to talk about your thoughts and feelings, without fear of judgement. Counselling can also help you to make sense of what’s going on in your life, so that you can better understand yourself and others. You can then maybe make some changes to enhance your wellbeing.
